The magic has started!🎸❤️

18 months ago my husband joked with me, he said "I'll put you in the cupboard and we can record your next EP there", I laughed, however, I could sense a hint of seriousness to his voice, apart from the sticking me in the cupboard part, he actually had a desire to do my next EP from home, so I spent the next 12 months arguing with him completely against the idea, but, as per usual, when it comes to him, I usually give in lol, he finds my weaknesses and my main one looks something like this ❤️.

I did have a long think about it and wasn't actually going to choose him to produce my EP just because he is my husband, if he wasn't the right man for the job, then I wouldn't have him do it, but I knew that he is the only other person to care as deeply about my career as me, because lets face it, if I fail then he shares that with me, plus I knew that he has spent years building great relationships with musicians here and all over the world, I knew he had been using protools since he was young and I knew that he had all of the makings of a great producer, and then I thought, well, why not give it a shot? it sure does give me a lot of creative control, I'm sure there will be a tonne of disagreements, and a wonderful amount of learning curves a long the way but at the end of the day, I will have a product that both my husband and I created together.

Along the way we have discussed who we would have play on the EP, the thing is, there is at times, a certain stigma with using sessions players from places such as Nashville, I thought long and hard about who we would use and I am proud to say that we will be using some great Aussie talent, including my own sisters, along with some great US talent, and while there is definitely enough talent to do the whole thing here, sometimes it's a little harder to get the right feel or style of the song when my music style is not quite cut and dry, I'm different, I don't like to put a label on what I do, I let you guys decide if you want to listen to it or not, but when it comes to finding experience in my style of music, I find that particular musicians need to be sourced from other parts of the world.

With the help of Link Audio we were able to begin purchasing the equipment we needed in order to record the EP. As of this week, we have started tracking my 6 track EP that will have a hell of a celebration party upon release. Providing it's not a total flop, in which case I'll blame Luke 😝, this will be something that I am so proud of. I have written 4 of the 6 tracks myself, co-written the other with the talented Matt Scullion and the last track "Push" which is currently available on iTunes was written by 2 talented writers Blair Daly and Jenn Hanson.

So as you can see, this is definitely wholeheartedly my project, I am putting my soul, heart and whole being into this EP, while I can't guarantee any success, in my eyes, the fact that I have created something so true to who I am, for me is the success.
