2018 saw multi-award winning Newcastle singer/songwriter Kristy James release her record ‘RAW’. After a string of successful launch shows, the EP racked up a some impressive achievements including the #2 ARIA Australian Country Album, #4 ARIA Country album and #16 ARIA Australian Album, as well as the #3 iTunes Australian Country Album and the #3 AIR Independent Labels Album.

 

To add to her success, Kristy was a part of the new television sensation ‘”All Together Now” which aired in October last year, she joined a panel of judges called ‘The 100’ led by team captain Ronan Keating and hosted by Julia Zemiro. Kristy continued her very busy year in Los Angeles and Nashville in November last year where she recorded her next album with Grammy winning producer Jamie Tate of the Rukkus Room Recording Studio.

2017 saw Kristy win the 2017 Australian Songwriters Association Awards – the country’s largest and longest running competition (over 30 years!) in which Kristy outclassed thousands of entries to take home the title of best Country Song as well as the 2017 PPCA Best Live Performance Award. At the end of 2017 Kristy signed her first record deal with Independent Label Social Family Records, a lifetime goal Kristy was ecstatic to achieve.

2019 is going to be a big year for Kristy with new material, new videos and shows, starting with her Tamworth Country Music Festival shows, Kristy looks forward to taking her new music to the world.
